Fundy Tidal Interpretive Centre
The Fundy Tidal Interpretive Centre is located at the west end of the unique Gosse Bridge and acts as a gateway into East Hants and the Fundy Shore. It lies on the banks of the Shubenacadie River, a tidal river fed by the Bay of Fundy and home to the highest tides in the world and the tidal bore phenomenon.
Staff and interpretive panels provide background about the natural wonder of the the tidal bore and the famous Bay of Fundy tides. Comprehensive displays explain the rich heritage of the area and the importance the tides have played in our history.
We can offer tours in five different languages (English, French, German, Polish and Dutch). If you are planning a trip to visit us and would like a tour in a language other than English, please call ahead so it can be arranged.

Observation Deck
A short walk along one of our trails leads to the tidal bore observation deck. Here you can overlook the Shubenacadie River and watch the tidal bore arrive. Shortly after arrival, a seemingly empty river bed becomes a fast flowing river. During the summer months you can observe the tidal bore rafters as they pass below. You can also spy numerous bald eagles soaring above.
